I'v always though that the system 1 was mad by schaller in Germany. Since we're on the topic of this system 1, I think it would be very helpful to do an in depth article on it explaining the different parts, what they do, best way to be set up, etc....

I know there's the guide to setting it up but Fenders guides are always just a reference. A couple questions I have is, once again, the little ferrule. I ended up finded mine on the floor not too long ago Tom! Now I just need to know what to do with it and what it does. Do I just press in the chrome friction collar, insert collar on post, insterst after market bar and twist. You the ferrule help the bar keep tight? Also, I don't have the original tool for the collar so what needs to be used?

Also, is there anyway to remove the 2 chrome inserts out of the body that's equipped with a system 1 trem? I have more questions but that's all i can think of at the moment.

the difference is companies and style. the Fender System One was made by Schaller in Germany during the 80's The Kahler bridges are still being made and are a differant bridge all together. You can see System One bridges here on my site. You can see Kahlers on a vender member wammij of www.wammiworld.com who sells and repairs Kahlers, I repair Fender System One bridges. thank you papatom

I have been given a Fender Contemprary by a friend and asked to restore it. However, it's a model 27-5800 which used the System III trem. Part of the System II trem was the height-adjustable head nut. Unfrtunately on ths model I have been asked to fix, the head appears to have exploded - there are only 2 of the larger spacer blocks left and the female half of the retainer pin has broken. The retainer handle and the four remaining spacer blocks are nowhere to be found. Furthermore, the trem arm itself is not available.

Can ANYONE please contact me with any information as to where I can get a replacement head nut and a replacement trm arm for the System III.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi, doing a repair on my 85 Japanese Strat and one of the system one intonation screws has broken. I need to buy a new one but can't find a proper one on line anywhere. Can you direct me to one? By the way, I read your story, keep playing brother! This Strat is to be used in worship with our praise team and I've been using it for a long time to write for the Lord.....

I found a strat body I would like to use for a project, I think it is a MIJ body it has side mounted jack, and swimming pool route in front, it has post inserts where bridge is for a 2 pivot point bridge or floyd rose the pivot point spacing is 59mm. I believe it was a contemporary strat that had a system 1 route, 9 srews hole for the pickgaurd, and what looks like a traditional fender strat route in back. body is metalic blue poly reasonably
heavy. Would a system 1 fit , How much for a used replacement. if not what options do I havel
thanks in advance

hi, the Fender System One Bridge was made for the Fujigen Gakki Factory who was licensed by Fender CBS during the mid 80 years by the Schaller Co. in Germany; The same Schaller company that makes us the Schaller guitar tuners, Bridges, etc. The Fujigen Gakki Factory Assembled and built, modified Fender Stratocaster Super Strats and Strat Pluses and Tele's during that time being licensed by Fender CBS. The E series guitars made in the USA were made during the mid 80's while the E series MIJ guitars were made during the period's of 1984 and 1987. The Fujigen Gakki Factory was licensed to build for Fender CBS and the Schaller Fender System One locking nut bridge with fine tuners was made for Fujigen during that time. Not to be confused with the Kahler Company who makes floating bridges or two point fulcrum bridges or the Floyd Rose Bridge made by the Floyd Rose company. All differant bridges and companies. The MIJ E series Guitars were named among the Best made Fender guitars during that mid 80's CBS Crisis and to this day still hold up under all that pressure and use. The Fender System One bridge used on most of the E series MIJ Strat Pluses, Strat's, Super Strats and Super Telecasters, Were among the finest Fendr guitars ever made. And are steadily being worth more, more collectable and looked for as then get more rare. When I started my site the reasone was because I seen the abust these fine instruments were going through between parts prirating and dissasembling. UNTIL I bought up all I could about 40 grand worth and started refurbishing, and restoring both the guitar parts with correct numbers in the heels of the body and necks as much as I could and the Fender System One bridges as well. To me they were the best bridge worth saving and best built and easiest to use. Today these guitars are being sold at a more relistic price on eBay and those who could afford them deserve them because they will be treasured and cared for in honor of the founder and creator of the Fender Guitar, Leo Clarence Fender. RVP I hope this helps.. Rockon.... papatom
